Harold Freeman “Hal” Lipscomb, III, 41, of Nicholson Loop, Morgantown, passed away suddenly, Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014 in Bruceton Mills, WV.

He was born in Falmouth, MA on June 10, 1972, a son of Harold Freeman Lipscomb, Jr. and the late Caroline Rose (Bowers) Lipscomb.

In addition to his father, Hal is survived by his wife, Amy Elizabeth Morgan Lispcomb; his three children, Jacqueline Lipscomb, Harold F. "Chip" Lipscomb, IV and Caitlyn Lipscomb; a sister, Cynthia Anderson; his niece, Danielle Anderson; his paternal grandmother, Loretta Lipscomb, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his mother, his was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harold Freeman Lipscomb, Sr., and his maternal grandparents.

Hal was employed by the Morgantown Utility Board for 10 years, where he worked as a serviceman and meter reader.

Three years ago, in the summer of 2011, he and his father opened Grazing Meadow Farms in Bruceton Mills. Hal became very successful in raising and breeding cattle, having raised several grand-champion bulls that he displayed at the Preston County Buckwheat Festival and the Ritchie County Fair. Additionally, he worked for Genex selling breeding supplies, and was formerly into drag racing.

Hal was a devoted father to his three children and will be sadly missed.
