Betty Rose Pruett, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Wake Forrest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Oolitic on October 13, 1924, the daughter of the late Marshall Ramsey and Violet (Hall) Ramsey. Betty was a long time active member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a former board member. A former employee of the City of Morgantown. She was a volunteer for numerous civic organizations. A very active member of the Mon County Senior Citizens and Westover Senior Citizens. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi adult sorority and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her daughters, Tandie and Jim Rich of Morgantown, Marsha Pruett of Englewood, CO and Sandy Pruett of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Cory and Jason Brannock of Clemmons, NC., Kevin and Amy Rich of Winston-Salem; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Hadley Brannock. Also she is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson W. Pruett, sister, Joyce Wright and brother, Russell Ramsey. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Sunday, September 7th from 1-4 p.m. Visitation will continue at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 N. High Street, Morgantown on Monday, September 8th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Q. Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westside Senior Center, 500 Dupont Road, Morgantown, WV 26501 and or Senior Monongalians, 5000 Greenbag Road #A5, Morgantown, WV 26508 or Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 N.
