Alice “Louise Marie” Correll, 81, of Westover, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. Alice Louise was born in Morgantown on January 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Alice Ann Correll. Louise was a 1954 graduate of Morgantown High School. She went on to work at Montgomery Ward’s on High St. as a sales clerk and then as a cashier in children's clothing at the Whiteside Department Store on High St. She was a member of St Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. Louise enjoyed socializing and could spend hours on the phone. She was a great storyteller and could recount endless tales from her youth. Louise's deep affection for her mother was well known, as they were inseparable, and she missed her dearly after she was gone. She cherished her pets, most recently her beloved cat, Gizmo. Louise will be remembered for her feistiness, sense of humor, love of animals, and devotion to her loved ones. She is survived by her special friends: Mervin and Karen L. Knotts, Molly Knotts, both of Westover, and Todd Knotts of Russellville, AR. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her brother William E. Correll and by five uncles: John, Tony, Frank, Joseph, and Albert. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 1:00 PM at East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown with Rev. Chris Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louise’s memory to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, 252 Brewer Rd., Morgantown, WV 26508.
