Alice Ann Stansberry Belmont passed away on October 27, 2026, in Morgantown, WV. She was 77 years old.

Born in Philippi, WV, in 1949, Alice was her parents’ pride and joy, She spent her first few years “on the farm” in Catawba with her mother, father, and Stansberry grandparents, and moved with her parents to Morgantown around 1953, to the brick house her father built. She grew up attending the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School and the West Virginia University Radiologic Technology program.

When the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center was established, Betty chose Alice to manage day-to-day operations, confident that her warm, caring leadership would extend through thoughtful design choices and judicious staff selection and training to provide women with a reassuring and decidedly un-”hospital”-like experience. She provided comfort and care to countless patients through the years she served as an imaging specialist and care center manager before her retirement in 2017.

Ever the adventurer, Alice enjoyed motorcycle rides, driving the ATV to the pond, and exploring woodworking with her husband Ray Dixon. She took her daughter Leah on road trips, bus trips, and frequent visits to Kennywood, where she rode every roller coaster her daughter was brave enough to go on. Together with her second husband, Gary Belmont, she graduated from Missouri Auction School; the two operated Belmont Auction Company in Morgantown for several years. A talented musician, Alice sang and played piano at home and in multiple churches, adding music and harmony wherever she went.

Alice relished becoming a grandmother, making frequent trips over the mountains to join her daughter and son-in-law and their growing family. She he loved finding surprises for her grandsons, hunting down the right Lego sets, the perfect stuffed animal, or the latest video game to surprise them and show how deeply their connection ran. She FaceTimed and texted so she could remain in regular touch and build individual relationships with them as they grew, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.

In addition to her family and career, Alice enjoyed staking out the best yard sales, building her collection of Morgantown Glass and Fostoria glassware, finding the perfect spot for her stained glass lamps, and making time to visit and laugh with friends over lunch.

Alice was joyfully welcomed to her eternal home by her father, Charlie Harold Stansberry, her mother, Beauty Love (Hoffman) Stansberry, her husband, Gary Belmont, and the many dogs she loved and cared for over the years. Here to carry on her legacy remain her beloved daughter, Leah (Stansberry) Richey, son-in-law, Brian, grandsons, Jake and Zach, and the friends and family she held dearest.

In keeping with her wishes, a private graveside committal service was held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.

Donations in Alice's memory may be made to the Monongalia County Canine Adoption Center, 106 Lockside Rd, Westover, WV 26501.
