Allene Helen Price Colborn, 91, of Fairmont passed away at Mon General Hospital with her beloved family by her side. She was welcomed into God’s open arms on January 31, 2017. Helen was born on January 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Paul Holland Price and Helen Tapp Price. Helen graduated from West Virginia University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. Her life’s work and proudest achievement was her family, and she had profound love for the people in her life. Helen’s legacy is one of being a mother first. She will be remembered as a virtuous woman full of grace, beauty and love. Helen’s essence was one of compassion, selflessness and forgiveness, and her disposition was always welcoming. Although her physical presence is no longer of this earth, her extraordinary faith and strength of spirit will live with and be remembered by her children as well as with all who knew her. She is survived by her five daughters who cherished her dearly: Juliet Amos (Robert) of Cordova, TN; Laura Walker (J. Stephen) of Morgantown; Catherine Colborn of Wilmington, NC; Melanie Rieser (Edward) of Fairmont; Sydney Siegrist (Cam) of Charleston; and her only son and the joy of her life, Christian Colborn of Fairmont; Grandchildren: Shannon Coffey (Mark) of Gibsonia, PA; Shaun Stanley of Morgantown, WV; Melville Stanley (Kathy) of Eugene, OR; Adrea Stuecker (Jason) of Louisville, KY; Stephen Walker of Charlotte, NC; Allene Walker of Morgantown; Chris Colborn of Wilmington, NC; Holland Dotts of Pittsburgh, PA; Andrew Rieser (Melissa) of Mooresville, NC; Carter Rieser (Laura) of Jefferson, IN; Garrett Rieser (Caitlin) of Louisville, KY; Kathleen Cyrus (Harrison) of Charleston; Paul Siegrist of Charleston; and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Joann Albright of Springfield, OH; Louise Taft of Morgantown; and Paul H. Price Jr. (Jean) of Naples, FL. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melville Lee Colborn. A Celebration of the life for Helen will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, Fairmont and family inurnment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Christ Episcopal Church, 405 9th Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 or to the Disability Action Center at 102 Benoni Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554.
