Amy Cox

Amy Christine Cox, 42, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 24, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Amy was born in Monongalia Co. on July 23, 1972, a daughter of the late William Cox and Sandra Kay Austin Jones. Survivors include her fiancé, Danny Protzman; a son, Donnie Ziegler of Summers School Rd.; a daughter, Paige Elizabeth Protzman at home; a step-son, Donovan Protzman; her siblings, Aaron Cox, his wife Cynthia and their children Lauren and Rachel of Core, WV, Tiffany Floyd and her children Cody, Parker and Christian of Fairmont, and Anthony “AJ” Austin, his wife Jamie and their children Allison, Lavena and Brayden Austin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alan and Lavena Austin. Amy was employed at Monongalia General Hospital as a medical assistant for 10 years. She was a genuinely loving and caring person who always did her best to take care of everyone. Family and friends will be received Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Wednesday, October 29 from 6-8 PM and again on Thursday, October 30 from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service with Reverend Kevin Cain officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery off of Stewartstown Rd.
