Andrea Hovatter

Andrea Michelle Snider Hovatter, 31, of Independence, WV, passed away on Monday, April 1st, 2019. She was born in Morgantown on September 7, 1987, the daughter of Denver Leroy Snider and Melissa Friend Snider of Morgantown. Andrea was a 2006 graduate of Morgantown High School, she graduated WVU Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors' of Speech Pathology & Audiology in 2010. She was also a McNair Scholar. She was currently working at WV Department of Rehab. She loved and collected Mermaids. She also loved Mexican food, especially Wings Ole'. Andrea was loved by many and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Hovatter; her parents, Denver and Melissa Snider; grandparents, Glenn Brent and Maggie Friend; grandfather, Leo Joy Snider, who passed shortly after her; great-grandmother, Harriet Friend; mother-in-law, Rita Clary and husband, Frank; father-in-law, William C. Hovatter and wife, Sarah; several aunts and uncles, and many cousins. Andrea also leaves behind her beloved dog, Wrangler; and four cats: Paisley, Oakley, Kona, and Anakin. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lucille Snider. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, on Friday, April 5th, from 3 - 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 6th, from 10 a.m. until time of The Funeral Service at 11 a. m. with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating assisted by Pastor Jon Henry. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her Grandfather.
