Anna Louise Ely

Anna L. Ely, 99, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, May 3rd at her home. She was born January 8, 1918 in Kitzmiller, MD, a daughter of the late Pete and Anna Volarie Ducic. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and worked for 22 years for the WVU School of Engineering. Mrs. Ely is survived by her children, Karen Carter and her husband Roy, Karl Ely and his wife Debbie, Wayne Ely and his wife Lynne, and Teresa Bowen; daughter in law, Joyce Ely; grandchildren, Steven, Tamara, Peter, Karl, Jr., Kelly, John, Andrew, Lee, Thomas, and Laura; twelve great grandchildren; and close friends, B.J. Hildebrand and Nancy Cook. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Ely, Sr.; children, William Ely, Jr. and Barry Ely; and brothers, Pete Ducic and John Ducic. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Friends and family will be received at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3334B University Ave., Star City, on Tuesday, May 9th from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
