Annemarie Elizabeth Steiniger Grimm of Star City died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Evergreen Assisted Living Facility. She was born the 23 of January, 1931 in Osnabruck Germany. She is the daughter of the late Elizabeth Shauman and Wilhelm Steininwig. Annemarie had 3 sisters, Elizabeth Chapman of Vancouver Island, BC Canada, Ranate Elfert of Lauenburg¬¬¬¬¬ Germany, and Maria Steininwig who died at birth. After WWII, Annemarie worked as apprentice for a draftsman. She was also involved in millinery design. In 1957, she married Ullrich Grimm and supported him in his studies at the University. In 1960 they moved to the United States for his job at the University of Cincinnati and the US department of Energy. They relocated to Morgantown in 1971 where their son was born, Goetz Christopher Grimm, who is also deceased. Annemarie grew to love Morgantown. Here, she gave German classes at the Suncrest Primary School. She also ran a day care facility. She loved working with children. Her husband Ullrich passed in 2009 and she has deeply missed the love of her life. She leaves her sister Elizabeth of Canada and her sister Ranate of Germany and good friends who loved her too. Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown has been entrusted with arrangements. Friends and family will be received at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, University Ave., Morgantown, on Thursday, September 29th at 11 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father John V. DiBacco as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Online condolences may be made at www.hastingfuneralhome.com
