Barbara Ellen Gallon, a beloved member of her community and cherished friend to many, passed away on September 14, 2025, one day after her 76th birthday. Born on September 13, 1949, in Morgantown, West Virginia, Barbara lived a life full of love, joy, and camaraderie.
Barb proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps for four years, a testament to her dedication and strong spirit. Throughout her life, she was known for her personality and her ability to connect with people. Barb considered her close friends as extended members of her family, making a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
In her spare time, Barb preferred spending time outdoors, finding joy in activities such as camping. She had a passion for dancing and music which allowed her to spread joy to others. Barb was an active member of the American Legion, where she continued to foster friendships and community.
Barb leaves behind her significant other of 22 years, William Jackson, as well as stepchildren, Tina Shaffer, Roxanne Miller, Mark Jackson, Andrew Jackson, and Billy Jackson. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including her special granddaughters, Tyla Guthrie, Rosa Mendez, and Kaitlyn Kosik.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Virginia (Copeland) Orosz, and her sister, Linda Orosz.
Barb’s legacy of love and friendship will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements. A private graveside service will take place at East Oak Grove cemetery.
