Betty Lou Goodwin

Betty Lou Goodwin, 88, of Morgantown, died Saturday, October 19, 2020 in Aberdeen, NC. She was born January 20, 1932 in Pt. Marion, PA, a daughter of the late John C. and Geneva (Thomason) Sherman. She was a member of Spruce St. United Methodist Church and worked for many years as a nursing supervisor at Mon General Hospital. She and her husband were charter members of the Pines Country Club and she loved golfing in her younger years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crafts, needlework, and watching sports on TV. She is survived by her children, Holly Williams and her husband Mike of Bridgeport, Richard Lee Goodwin and his wife Mary of Winchester, VA, Scott Alan Goodwin and his wife Dianna of Aberdeen, NC; grandchildren, Christopher M. Williams of Pittsburgh, PA, Tyler N. Williams and his wife Heather of Nashville, TN, Brooke M. Goodwin of Winchester, VA, Kaylin E. Goodwin of Morgantown, Allysin J. Goodwin of Morgantown; great grandson, Desmond Williams of Nashville, TN; and sister, Doris Jean Beatty of Pt. Marion, PA. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Goodwin and son, Gary Lester Goodwin. Private family services have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown with interment to take place at Lawnwood Cemetery.
