Betty J. Mayfield, 87, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011, at her residence.Betty was born in Preston County on June 9, 1923, the daughter of the late David and Lacy Gibson Blaney.Betty is survived by her husband, Paul Mayfield, son Ronald Douglas Mayfield and wife Nancy of Port Charlotte, Fl and daughter Karen Yoke and husband James of Westminster, MD. She is the last surviving sibling of eleven brothers and sisters. Betty has four grandchildren, Stephanie Mayfield, Amy Heyman, Kristen Burns, and Jay Yoke, three great-granddaughters Heather Johnson, Emma Heyman and Madison Heyman and two great-great- granddaughters, Hannah and Carlee Johnson. Her family was her greatest pride and joy.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 9-11am on Thursday, March 3. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11am Thursday, with Rev. Christopher Gudger-Raines officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Morgantown.
