Betty Lou McBee, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on August 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Ralph Swisher and Louella (Jackson) Swisher. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Kenneth McBee; children: Doug McBee and his wife, Susan, of Pittsburgh; Kelly McBee and her husband, Brian Boggess, of Morgantown; and Ralph McBee and his wife, Michele, of Morgantown; grandchildren: Amanda Hoover and her husband, Adam, Justin McBee, Breanna Boggess, Jackson Boggess, and Seth McBee; greatgrandchildren, Addison and Scarlett Hoover; her siblings: Ed Swisher and wife, Mable, Harry Swisher and wife, Nancy, Linda Christy and husband, Mike, Janet and the late Willis (Woody) Keener, Charles Swisher and wife, Pat; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brothers and their spouses, Robert and Sarah Swisher, Willie and Edna Swisher, and Richard Swisher. Betty was a 40 + year member of Johnson’s Chapel UMC. She also was a member of the Smithtown Homemaker’s Association and the Mon County Farm Bureau. She worked alongside her husband in their dairy business for many years before quitting to become a full-time mother. Betty poured her life into caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, teaching Sunday school, and playing with her grandchildren until it was slowly taken from her by dementia. Betty was a kindhearted and generous woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown on Friday, September 17th from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, September 18th from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery on Rt. 73.
