Betty J. Owen

Betty J. Owen, 87, of Pentress, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at her home. She was born July 28,1937 in Core, WV, a daughter of Dale Burdette and Olive Jean (Myers) Morris.

Betty was the former co-owner of Owen Funeral Home (later Owen Neely Funeral Home when her nephews joined the business) with her husband, Bob, for over forty years. In her free time, she enjoyed Tole Painting.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles Robert “Bob” Owen and her sister, Bonnie J. Neely.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blacksville Baptist Church, c/o Marsha Cottrell, 7693 Mason Dixon Highway, Wana, WV 26590.

In accordance with Betty’s wishes, cremation services are being provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory.
