Beverly Tharp

Beverly A. Owen Tharp, 62, of Morgantown, WV died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA after a long illness.She was born in Waynesburg, PA on January 14, 1949, a daughter of the late, Raymond M. and Marguerite Kelley Owen.Beverly had worked as director of Medical Records at Monongalia General Hospital for 21 years, and until her illness owned and operated a Medical Records business from her home.She was a member of the Soroptimist Club International of Morgantown, the Red Hats, and was a 1966 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and the Morgantown Business College. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and traveling.She is survived by her husband, John Tharp, a brother, Bob Owen of Pentress, WV, three sisters-in-law, Lola Owen of Morgantown, WV, Joan Withers of Bedford, OH and Betty Owen of Pentress, WV, a nephew Allen Owen, and three nieces, Janet OâNeil, Kelley Owen and Kym Owen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Owen and Donald Owen and one sister, Janenne Owen.Beverly requested cremation as her method of disposition. A committal service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 14, Beverly Hills Chapel with Pastor Richard L. Work, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association, North Central West Virginia Chapter, 1110 Prestwick Ave., Morgantown, WV 26508.Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
