Brinley Irvin Staley, 76, of Boy Scout Camp Road, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010, at his residence.Brinley was born in Morgantown on March 6, 1934, the son of the late Arthur and Ruth Catlett Staley. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 1339 and the Millwright Union local 1755.He is survived by three daughters, Candice Carney and husband, Charles of Birmingham, AL Jann Lynn Volk and husband Steve of San Diego, CA and Alisa Ann Novak and husband Steve of Sacramento CA two sons, Arthur David âRockyâ Staley and wife, Rebecca of Morgantown and Brinley Irvin Staley II and wife, Melinda of Morgantown grandchildren, Joshua and John Staley, Lauren and Brandon Staley, David, Kristen and Andrew Volk, Ryan Brooks, Logan Wooderson, and Lyndsay Novak great-granddaughter, Hanna Tenney and his sister Patty Barthlow of Charleston, WV. Also survived by several nieces and nephewsHe was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Staley and Blaine Staley. Our father, known to so many as âFriendly Brinleyâ and known for his many talents, may rest peacefully next to his love of 53 years, Marjorie A. Morris Staley. We will dearly miss him and will forever keep him in our hearts and prayers. A private funeral service will be held Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Garden.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Brinley Staley, Sr, Scotts Run Settlement House, P.O. Box 398, Osage, WV 26543.
