Carrie Joan Hertzog

Carrie Joan Hertzog, 77, of Nicholson Loop, Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a short illness. Carrie was born in Morgantown, on August 29, 1940, the daughter of the late Plummer and Goldie Murray Dalton. Carrie was a member of Burns Chapel Church. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, youthful spirit, a caring heart, never knowing a stranger. She loved her family more than anything. Every Sunday, her family gathered at her house for Sunday dinner which they cherished. She is survived by her loving husband, David Hertzog, of 60 years; two daughters, Lillie Nicholson and husband, Marvin, Tracy Blaney and husband, Jamie; a daughter in law, Tammy Hertzog; three sisters Phyllis “Pip” Blosser, Lula Bell Woody, Alice Ann Murphy, and a brother, Ronnie Gay Dalton and wife, Jean. She was also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and her step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Hertzog, four sisters, and one brother. Family and friends will be received at Nicholson Chapel Church on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 3 PM and Monday until the time of service at 1 PM with Reverend Lynda Masters and Pastor Donna Dalton officiating.
