Charles "Pap" Allen, 83, of Maidsville, died Thursday, July 30th at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 4, 1937 in Morgantown, a son of the late Robert (Bob) Everett and Macie Allen. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired after many years of service with the City of Morgantown. Pap loved spending time with his family. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors and would often relish his time being able to hunt, fish, camp, and mow the grass. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary "Peggy" Allen; children, Robert Johnson and his wife Vanessa, John Johnson, and Tammi Adams and her husband Dan; grandchildren, Zachary Johnson and his wife Megan, Robert Johnson, Jr. and his companion Megan, Dyllan Johnson and his wife Ashley, Skyler Johnson, John Johnson, Jr., Jimmy Johnson, Brittani Gatian and her husband Josh, Corey Adams and his wife Mallory, and Brooke Layton and her husband Justin; great grandchildren, Delaney, Rhett, Carter, Miley, Lorelei, Freya, and Bella. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings, Hershel Allen, Alden Allen, Herbert Allen, Guy Allen, Nina Burkhammer, and Doris Allen. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Monday, August 3rd from 12-8 PM. A private family funeral service will be held with interment to follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
