Charles Herron

Charles "The Cherokee" Herron, 74, of Willey St., Morgantown, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, at his residence.Charles was born in Morgantown on July 7, 1938, the son of the late Loyd Duffy and Velma Virginia (Wilson) Herron.He was the owner of Cherokee Trucking and also operated a crane and heavy machine equipment. Charlie was an avid horseman and showed horses in his younger years in the Tri-County area. He is survived by his fiancée and caregiver of eight years, Joyce Braham five step-children and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Linn Herron and a sister, Ruth Summers. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 13th. All are asked to gather at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel of Tranquility Mausoleum on Friday, Sept. 14th by 10:45 AM, where a graveside service will be held at 11 AM with Lonabell Knisell officiating.
