Charles E. "Pete" Williams, 90, Willowdale Road, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Monongalia General Hospital.Pete was born in Morgantown on November 22, 1921, the son of the late John Jenkins Williams and Edna Mary Cupp Williams.He was retired from the Corps of Engineers as the Chief Maintenance Man with the Berlin Dam in Deerfield, OH. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Navy and he was a member of VFW Post #548 in Morgantown.He is survived by one son, James A. Williams and his wife Patty of Beloit, OH one daughter, Linda S. Shaw and husband Allen âBuddyâ of Morgantown and three grandchildren, James A. Williams, Jr. of Beloit, OH, Stephanie DeRose of Youngstown, OH and Charles E. Hetrick of Morgantown, and three Great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorotha M. Lewis Williams one son, Charles D. Williams four brothers, Walter Bud Williams, Kermit Williams, John Williams and Melford Williams two sisters, Doris Haught, Lucille Smith, and Betty Lee Kelley.Family and friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Sunday, July 29, from 3-8pm. and on Monday, July 30 from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home at 10:00am with Chaplain David Goodin officiating.Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood.at 12:00 p.m. July 29, 2012Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com.
