Charlotte Rebecca Dalton, 69 of Westover, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Charlotte "Becky" was born on April 9, 1956 in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late Bette Louise Conway.

Becky deeply cherished her family, friends, and community. She found joy in the everyday moments—going on family walks, taking long drives down the backroads just to soak in the scenery, and spending quiet time with her grandbabies on the front porch swing, sharing stories and conversations about life. Whether she was teaching them how to write an essay, build a shelf, or sew a curtain, Becky treasured every second of their time together. Midnight milkshake runs and late-night porch talks were some of her favorite adventures with them.

Her heart for service was evident in everything she did. Becky was always willing to lend a helping hand—whether it was her time, offering a ride, a home-cooked meal, a listening ear, or one of her famous "Mama Becky" hugs. She devoted much of her time to volunteering in her community and was a steadfast supporter of the Westover Police Department. During her midnight shifts, she made sure the officers on duty were well-fed and always had a warm place to stop for a chat. Even during the height of COVID-19, when much of the world shut down, Becky continued cooking and providing for them from her own home.

Becky also had a lifelong love for animals, especially horses, and enjoyed the thrill of riding four-wheelers, fishing and spending time outdoors.

One of the most profound blessings in her later years came through a 23andMe test, when she discovered she had nine siblings. Though they were brought together later in life, their bond quickly grew strong. They shared memories, laughter, and a sense of connection that felt like it had always been there. Becky embraced each of them with open arms and loved them deeply, cherishing the time they spent getting to know one another.

Becky will be remembered for her generosity, her adventurous spirit, and the love she poured into every relationship. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she held so dear.

Becky is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Billy Dalton; her son, Derrick Dalton and daughter in law, Amber Dalton; her daughter, Kelley Riley and son in law, Victor Riley; her grandchildren, Harlie Dalton, Baylee Dalton, Riley Dalton, Derrick Dalton Jr, Gavin Perry, Venus Riley, Bishop Riley, Isabella Riley, Victor Riley Jr, and Aliana Riley; and her great-grandchild, Roman Perry. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathi Thaxton, Robert Warner, John Fisher, David Boyles, Mike Griffith, Roger Mooney, Rose Thevenin, and Luanna Horn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Skeen.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
