Cheryl Horton Heflin

Cheryl Horton Heflin, age 71, of Morgantown, was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 surrounded by her family while under the care of the excellent staff at Monongalia General Hospital. Together with her husband, they established Heflin Insurance Agency in 1974 where she worked as an insurance executive until her retirement in 2006. She was a dedicated member of the Service League of Morgantown where she served as President and was a Girl Scout leader for 6 years. Cheryl loved reading, travel, and genealogy. Her home never knew a stranger. She was devoted to her family, friends and community and was always among the first to volunteer no matter how difficult or complicated the task. Her family was her life and she will be missed deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Ann Horton and her son-in-law, Howard Cauvel. The family will receive friends at Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown on Sunday, October 23 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm and on Monday, October 24 from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
