David William Lewis, Jr.

David W. Lewis, Jr., 66, a lifetime resident of Morgantown, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 1 ,2021, at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born August 25, 1954, a son of Goldie B. Lewis and the late David W. Lewis, Sr. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend to all of those lucky enough to have known him. David was a retired coal miner who enjoyed woodworking, hunting & fishing trips with the boys, gardening, canning, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother, Goldie B. Lewis; five siblings and spouses Donna and Carl Mayfield of Springfield, WV, Wanda and James Martin of Morgantown, WV, Ernie and Beth Lewis of Fairmont, WV, Debbie and Randy Wilson of Morgantown, WV and Cathy and Ray Hurt of Morgantown, WV, along with many nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. David was preceded in death by his father David W. Lewis, Sr., brother John B. Lewis, paternal grandparents Page and Lourdine Lewis, maternal grandparents Grant and Goldie Wolfe and his dog/best friend and companion for 12 years, Rusty. Family and friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Friday, June 4, 2021, from 2 – 6 p.m. Mr. Lewis will be moved to Nicholson Chapel Church, Summer School Road, Morgantown where visitation will continue on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 12 – 1 p.m. with Tess Hovatter officiating.
