Dennis Brown

Dennis Brown, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his home in Morgantown. Dennis was born in Jackson, MS on November 12, 1931, the son of the late Bruce Brown and Faye (Salter) Brown. Dennis held a MS Degree in Organic Chemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry and held research chemist positions in government, university, and industry. He was a 50 year member of the American Chemical Society. In addition to his professional career, Dennis was a fine-woods craftsman. He constructed numerous reproductions of antique furniture and built three harpsichords. From age six, Dennis sang in church, community, and university choirs. He was a dedicated bicyclist, using his bicycle as his main means of transportation for more than forty years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Guendoline (Fair) Brown; children, Mary Eloise Reed of Hamburg, PA, Timothy Dennis Brown of Morgantown, and Carolyn Fay McIntosh of Sneads Ferry, NC; five grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
