Dennis Gene Thomas

Dennis Gene Thomas, 87, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2026. Born March 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Glenn and Evelyn Marie (Foster) Thomas.

Dennis was a man of many talents and worked diligently in various positions throughout his career, eventually retiring from Morgantown Power Equipment.

His life was defined by his faith and service; as an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he found great purpose assisting the needs of his congregation and the broader community. Outside of his service, Dennis was an enthusiast of music and film, and was known for his great sense of humor and joke telling. He enjoyed playing his guitar and always enjoying a classic Western on television. Above all, his greatest joy was the time spent in the company of his beloved family.

Dennis is survived by his children, Matt Thomas (Jill), Douglas Thomas, and Victoria Thomas; his brother, Paul David Thomas; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 62 years, Joan Wilda Thomas, and his siblings, Jessie Everly, Dale Thomas, Vivian Jones, and Eunice Crites.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
