Denzil Shaw

Denzil Shaw, 85 of the Kingwood Pike, Morgantown passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his home. He was born November 19, 1932 in Monongalia County, son of Zella and Lester Shaw. He is survived by three sons and their spouses. William and Glenna Shaw of Morgantown, Denzil L. and Cathy Shaw of Newburg and Larry and Maxine Shaw. One daughter Judy and spouse Harvey Costello of Morgantown, four grandchildren, Daniel and wife Kellie Shaw, Devin and wife Stephanie Shaw, Jeremy Hawkins and wife Misty and Lee Costello and wife Kimmie; seven great grandchildren, Alex Shaw, Jaden and Bryson Hawkins, and Taylor, Sammie and Aaron Costello and Ashton Shaw. Three sisters Eleanor Hart, Linda Conner and spouse Glenn, Elma McMillen and spouse Norman; Three sisters in law Cathleen Shaw of Maryland, Dorothy Shaw of Morgantown and Francis Shaw of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy Irene Shaw in 1997; two grandchildren Amanda and Tyler Shaw and one great grandson Toby Costello. Three brothers; Gaylord, Forrest, and Donald Shaw, and three sisters; Lucille Dalton, Edith Kisner, and Leona Stacey. He was a retired coal miner; he loved camping, hunting and traveling with his family and friends. He loved going to his camp at Mt. Storm and just traveled to Illinois last November to hunt. Jack made many friends along his travels and no one was a stranger. Everyone enjoyed talking and hearing his stories. He loved life and he will be sadly missed by many friends and family. He will be missed by his Chihuahua Penny. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. Family and friends will be received at Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church, Kingwood Pike, Morgantown on Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 11 AM to 11 PM and Wednesday March 21st from 6 AM till the time of service at 11 AM with Pastor Lynda Masters officiating.
