Dixie Lea Gaspar

Dixie Gaspar, 82, of Morgantown, passed away at Mon Health Medical Center on Thursday, October 1, 2026. She was born December 29, 1943, daughter of the late Frank and Opal (Wright) Casteel.

Dixie loved rescuing kitty cats and feeding birds, as well as going out to lunch and tending to her flower garden with her daughter.

She is survived by her beloved daughter and best friend, Connie Gaspar, with whom she lived with; her GrandCats; as well as her son, Joe Gaspar (Beverly); granddaughter, Megan Gaspar; and other extended family members and special friends.

In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D. Gaspar; and in-laws, Joe and Jeannette Gaspar.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dixie’s memory may be made to your favorite national animal charity or local shelter.

In accordance with her wishes, a private interment took place at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
