Donald Boyce

Donald Frederick Boyce, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at home with his family at his side.Don was born in Morgantown on August 8, 1928, a son of the late Fred Boyce and the late Thelma Greathouse Boyce.He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, where he served as an Army Medic. Later, he worked for the former Sterling Faucet Company and Consolidation Coal Company at the Blacksville #1 mine.An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his friends and family, and helped found the Independent Hunting Club in Morgantown.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilma McDonald Boyce his children, Rita Eakin, Fred Boyce, David Boyce, Mary Chafin and Lisa Cupp twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren two sisters, Josephine Selway and Thelma Kurt, and one brother, Albert Boyce.In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Melvin and Ralph Boyce.The family will receive friends at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Monday, April 30th from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM with Reverend Damon Nicholson officiating.
