Donald Ray “Donnie” Johnson, 68, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at his home in Westover. Donnie was born on August 22, 1957 in Washington, DC to the late Charles Johnson and the late Betty Perdue and Pat Walker.
Donnie had a passion for the culinary arts and his enthusiasm for cooking led to a rewarding job at Stefano’s restaurant in Morgantown, a place known for its fine dining experience.
Beyond his career, Donald was a man of many interests. He found joy in reading and often engaged in thoughtful discussions surrounding the Bible. He shared a love for both movies and music, especially “the oldies”. Above all, Donald cherished the moments spent with his family.
Donnie is survived by his seven children, 14 grandchildren, and his sister, Patty, whom will all carry forward his spirit and values.
In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his two brothers, one son, and one nephew, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Donnie’s legacy continues through his family and the myriad of lives he touched throughout his journey.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV 26505 on Wednesday, February 25, from 2:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 4:00pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
