Donald Lawrence Newlon

Donald Lawrence Newlon quietly made his final journey to Paradise at 8:10 pm on February 2, 2026.

He was born June 24, 1926 in Morgantown to the late Thomas Gerald & Dorothy Evelyn Michael Newlon.

Donald graduated from Morgantown High School in 1944 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. He was stationed in the Philippines and Tokyo, Japan, as World War II came to an end.

He married Carolyn Orosz and moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked for NACA-NASA from 1953 until his retirement in 1981.

Donald enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, and was a member of Sabraton Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by grandchildren, Patrick Newlon & Shae Smith; great grandchildren, Rylie, Raegan, Lily; and brother Terry Gerald Newlon.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn; his sister, Geraldine Jackson; his brother, Robert Curtis Newlon; and his son, Donald Andrew Newlon.
