Donaldeen Welch

Donaldeen Marie “Donna” Welch, 90, of Grafton Road, Morgantown, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was born in Morgantown on December 23, 1927, daughter of the late Phillip Raymond Runner and Sylvia Mae Rich Runner. Donaldeen was a lifetime resident of Morgantown, Methodist by faith, and a member of Woodland United Methodist Church. She was also past Royal Matron of WV Court #1, past Worthy High Priestess of White Shrine of Jerusalem, and past officer of Grand Court of WV. She was secretary and manager for many years at the Mileground Medical Center. Later in life, she worked at McDonald’s in Sabraton. Donaldeen is survived by her three sons, Robert J. Welch, II and spouse, Lee, Richard Scott Welch and spouse, Melinda, and Jamie Brent Welch; three daughters, Joyce W. Daft, Helen J. Swaney and spouse, Larry, and Heidi M. Shahan and spouse, Jackie; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. “Bob” Welch; three brothers, John S. Runner, Richard D. Runner, and Phillip R. Runner; three sisters, Virginia A. Fulmer, Doris R. Shoaf, and Martha Jacquelyn Delsignore; and four grandchildren, Aaron, Paul, Christopher, and William. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Saturday, June 23rd from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Omega Crematory with private inurnment to take place at Mt. Union Cemetery, Morgantown.
