Donna Kay Paternostro

Donna Kay Paternostro, 62, passed away at her home on Monday, September 7, 2026. She was born in Charlottesville, VA on June 4, 1964, the daughter of Becky Guiff and the late Charles Guiff.

After graduating high school Donna pursued a career in healthcare as a registered nurse, earning her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Virginia and her nursing degree from Geisinger Nursing School. 

In her spare time she enjoyed artwork, particularly making jewelry and ceramics. Donna enjoyed spending time with her pets and was especially fond of caring for her young pups. Additionally, she was a devoted supporter of University of Virginia athletics, but above all, family always came first. She loved her children very much and they were each an incredibly important part of her life. 

Donna was a kind and caring person who was always looking out for others in need. Whether offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or an act of generosity, she had an effortless way of making everyone feel loved. Her compassion left an enduring mark on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by her son, Alexander Paternostro of Morgantown, West Virginia; her daughter, Maia Paternostro of Morgantown, West Virginia; and her sister, Debbie Arnold of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Charles Guiff. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local Humane Society in Donna’s memory.
