Doris Chipps

Doris V. Chipps, 85, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at her home. She was born August 27, 1934 in Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude Pearl (Talbert) Woods. Mrs. Chipps was a lifelong caregiver to people of all ages, active in her church and loved her flowers. She is survived by her children, Penny S. Weatherspoon, Chipper Chipps and his wife Debi, and Polly Dove and her husband Sam; grandchildren, Maria Raleigh and her husband Harold, Michael Weatherspoon, Manuel Weatherspoon, Justin Chipps and his wife Allie, Brittany Chipps, Jennifer Dorazio and her husband Tom, Ryan Dove, Courtney Shindel and her husband Josh; nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and siblings, Marie Friend and her husband Jim and Patricia Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Gay "Chippy" Chipps, Jr. and three great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, February 8th from 5-7 PM and again on Sunday, February 9th from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Morgantown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Morgantown Hospice, 3596 Collins Ferry Rd., Suite 250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
