Dorothy Dalton

Dorothy Dalton, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.Dorothy was born in Philippi, WV on May 17, 1924, the daughter of the late Dewey and Inez DaltonShe was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Blosser and husband, Fred, Frances Woody and her husband, Samuel, her son, Stanley Dalton and wife, Tammy, Paul Freeman and wife, Brenda, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her siblings, Deloris Kennedy, Dixie Lucas, Roxie Manion and Rosalie Born as well as her faithful K-9 companion Sadie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Dalton, a daughter, Margie Freeman, and an infant son, Dwight Dalton. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4-8pm on Tuesday, March 1, and from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, March 2. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor James Sabin and Rev. Francis Craker officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Morgantown.
