Dorothy Jane Lynch

Dorothy Jane Lynch passed away on June 4, 2025, in Morgantown, West Virginia at the age of 93. She was born on December 28, 1931, in Mingo Junction, Ohio, to parents George and Julia Bezak. She graduated from New Castle High School in Pennsylvania. She then moved to Washington D.C., where she met her late husband, John James Lynch Sr. and soon had two sons.

Over the years, she and her family lived in several countries including Panama, Saudi Arabia, and Spain, before ultimately settling in Bethesda, Maryland. Years later, in 2016, she and her husband relocated to Morgantown to move in with their son.

Dorothy was a faithful member of St. John's University Parish. She was also devoted to reading scripture and watching the EWTN channel. Additionally, she would spend a few hours a day watching her favorite television shows: "Bluebloods," "Cheers," and "Frasier.” Some of her favorite moments were spent sitting on her front porch chatting with others and taking in the beauty of the neighborhood gardens.

Dorothy is survived by her son John James Lynch Jr.; daughters-in-law Nancy Lynch and Christine McDaniel; her four grandchildren Stewart Lynch, Allison Lynch, Zachary Lynch, and Jensen Winston; and her brother George Bezak.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Bezak; her son James George Lynch; and her husband, John.

Dorothy Jane Lynch will be fondly remembered for her loving-kindness. She was a gentle soul with a soft heart who deeply touched the lives of those around her. Her legacy lives on through her cherished family and the many friends, neighbors, and acquaintances who had the pleasure of knowing her.
