Dr. David Scott Bucy

Dr. David Scott Bucy, 75, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in his home on February 6, 2026.

Born on October 7, 1950, in Morgantown, West Virginia, David was a devoted husband, father, and beloved Pop Pop. He was a loving husband to Vicki (Sesek) Bucy and a proud father to Lindsay Bucy, Drew Bucy, and Dana Bucy Sommers (Daniel); his stepdaughter, Lindy Sgambati-Cox (Jeremiah). He is also survived by his sister, Lizabeth "Libby" Bucy; and his cherished grandchildren, Juliana Parsley (Seth) and Dominic Sgambati He is also survived by many loving brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews & cousins.

David and Vicki shared 28 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and devotion. A man of deep Christian faith, David lived with integrity, humility, and a servant's heart. He was a faithful member of Whitehall Church of Christ in Fairmont, West Virginia.

A lifelong learner, David earned several academic degrees, including a Doctorate in Safety from West Virginia University. He took great pride in his education and career and was deeply passionate about his work, finding purpose in helping others and supporting those around him through his knowledge and expertise.

David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Bucy.

An honorable man, David was loved and respected by many family members, friends, and colleagues. Above all else, he loved his wife and family deeply. His steady presence, compassion, and dedication to others will be remembered always. His legacy lives on through his family, his friends, and all the lives he touched throughout his life.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation services will be provided.  Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, February 13th from 1:00 PM until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 PM.
