Edward Horton

Edward E. "Big E" Horton, 72, of the Old Cheat Road in Morgantown, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, at Monongalia General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.Ed was born in Morgantown on February 28, 1939, the son of the late Robert and Mildred Boyles Horton.He was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church.Ed was a former employee of Lyle Horton Ford Sales and retired from WVU after 18 years of service. Ed was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He was an avid race fan beginning back in the day of the old Morgantown Speedway. He loved bowling, swimming, football, playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Ed is survived by his wife of 41 years, Agnes Marie Pugh Horton two sons and spouses, Douglas E. Horton & Laura of Bruceton Mills, Daniel E. Horton & and Frances of Morgantown three grandchildren, Britanny Ponceroff, Tyler Horton and Garrett Shepherd one great grandson, Brayden Ponceroff one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Horton & Nora niece Annett Hanna & Todd of Chesterfield,VA nephew Jeff Horton & Leslie of Frederick, MD.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nursing unit and to Melissa and Theresa in the ICU at Monongalia General Hospital.Family and friends may call at Woodland United Methodist Church, 1846 Mileground Road, Morgantown Wednesday, April 13 from 3-5p.m and 7-9p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 14 from 10:00a.m until the time of the funeral service at 11:00a.m.in the church with Rev.
