Eleanor Powell

Eleanor Louise Powell, 92, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 31, 2012 at Sundale Nursing Home.Eleanor was born in Lambert, PA on February 17, 1920, a daughter of the late Paul Phillips and the late Violet (Stillwagon) Phillips.Survivors include her children, Marie Powell of Rock Forge and Joseph Ayersman of Melbourne, FL (Palm Bay) a grandson, Mark Anthony Powell two-granddaughters, Amanda Kassan and her husband John, and Randi Kassan and her husband Jeff six great-grandchildren, John Anthony Powell, Marc Powell, Ella and Sophoa Kassan, and Maggie and Isabelle Kassan and onebrothers, Carl Phillips and his wife Shirley of Cumberland, MD.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Richard Powell five brothers and two sisters.She loved attending the Sagebrush Round-Up with her friends. She worked in the housekeeping department of Monongalia General Hospital for more than twenty years and was a Methodist by faith.In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Powell has been cremated.A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown with Pastor Matthew Chapelle officiating.Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service from 5:00 â" 6:00 PM.Inurnment will take at a later date in the Nicholson Chapel Cemetery on Summers School Rd.
