Elizabeth Cornelia Hanning

Elizabeth (Betsy) Hotchkiss Hanning, 91, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Betsy was born, in Washington, CT on January 10, 1926, the daughter of the late Roger Tyler Hotchkiss and Virginia Trowbridge Hotchkiss. Betsy has lived at the Suites at the Heritage since July of 2012. Previously she has lived in Hartford, CT, Tampa, FL, Incline Village, NV, Connestee Falls, Brevard, NC and the National Elks Home in Bedford, VA. She is survived by daughter Mary Hanning Pettit, granddaughters Margaret Elizabeth Pettit Yanchak, of Morgantown and Mary Rebecca Pettit of Tampa, FL. She has three great grandchildren, Joseph William Yanchak, Thomas Yanchak and Mary Jane Yanchak all of Morgantown. In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her husband of 64.5, years Fredrick William Hanning, son Roger Hartwell Hotchkiss Hanning (Chip), brother Roger Hartwell Hotchkiss (Bud) and sister Jeanne Hotchkiss Nelson. A memorial will be held in Morgantown on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Church at 11am with Father Michael Hadaway officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rice Bowls, Doctors Without Borders, and Trinity Episcopal Church.
