Ella Hodge

Ella Jean Hodge, 74, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 16, 1942, daughter of the late Harold L. and Ollie M. Carpenter. Ella Jean was a graduate of University High School. She was employed for over 35 years at Morgan Shirt Factory and a store manager for Dollar General for over 15 years. She was a member of Cheat Lake United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph F. “Frank” Hodge; a daughter, Betty J. (David) Phillips; a sister, Sally J. (James) Pickenpaugh; grandchildren, Joseph, Cassandra, and Jason Phillips; a great-grandson, Remmington; nieces, Kimberly (Nathan) Greene, and Stephanie J. (Paul) Croston, all of Morgantown; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jonathan and Alexa Greene, and Kylie and Spencer Croston; brother-in-law, Elmer (Tub) Hodge of Manassas, Va., many other nieces and nephews, and a family pet, Nala. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her in-laws, Sav’re and Etta Hodge, sister-in-law’s Laurabelle Bean, Nettie Shaw, and Mary Louise Wilson; brother-in-law’s James, Sav’re, Henry, Charles, William, and George Hodge. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 26th, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Rev.
