George Arthur Bush

George H. Bush, 88, of Morgantown and Leesburg, FL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 16, 2016. He was born June 2, 1928, in Bullskin Township, PA, son of the late William (Bill) Bush and Anna Freiburg Bush. George worked for Penn Line Service starting at age 14 until he was 65. He was an expert fisherman and gardener. He loved to cook, and he owned and operated the “Y” Restaurant in Blacksville. He liked spending time with his friends at Leroy’s Service Station. He took two years out to serve his country in Korea where he again helped in line service. George was very proud of his military service. George is survived by his wife, Carol McCartney; four sons: David and Gloria Bush of Broken Arrow, OK., Robert and Carletta Bush of Blacksville, Richard and Brenda Bush of Chester, VA., and Donald and Becky Bush of Uniontown, PA; a daughter, Florence Chalfant of Uniontown, PA; grandchildren: Melisa (Brian) Brummage, Michele (Justin) Pritchard, Nathan Bush, Amber (Steven) Kuper, Tony (Jenna) Bush, Kristina Chalfant, Christopher Bush, Elizabeth Bush, Joshua Foster, Megan (Isaac) Cook; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Bryce, Emily, and Chase; one sister, Geraldine Rodkey of Uniontown, PA; special nieces: Deborah Michael and Sandra Rodkey; multiple nephews and nieces; and his two Scottish Terriers, Peg and Sam. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Wade Bush; Tucker and Harry Wingard; his sister, Gladys Adams; son-in-law, Art Chalfant; stepdaughter, Julie Foster; and father-in-law, Carl McCartney. Friends and family will be received Thursday, September 22nd at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jim Cooley officiating.
