Gerald Gear

Gerald “Buck” Gear, 80, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at his residence. He was born June 7, 1938, in Huttonsville, WV, a son of the late Robert and Zona (Hammon) Gear. He worked for many years as a roofer in the construction industry and in his free time enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Naomi “Pokey” Gear; children, Terry, Tammy, Timmy, and Tony all of Windham, OH; grandson, Tim Gear, Jr. of Huttonsville, WV; siblings, Gary Gear and his wife Evelyn, Robert Gear and his wife Patricia, and Jean Redman. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by siblings, Austin Lloyd, Geraldine Gear (his twin sister), Ruby Hartmoyer, and Lucille Moore. The family would like to give a special thank you to WV Caring Hospice for all of their love and support. In keeping with his wishes, cremations services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Thursday, October 11th from 4 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 6 PM.
