Glada Lauene Rodgers

Glada Lauene Rodgers, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Mapleshire Nursing Home. She was born in Morgantown on June 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Ellsworth “Pinky” Lyons and Anna (Manning) Lyons. She was a member of the Forks of Cheat Baptist Church and a graduate of University High School. She enjoyed watching WVU football, camping with family and friends, gardening and shopping. She is survived by her children, Georgette Giles of Westover and Mark A. Rodgers and his wife Diane of Parker, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan Giles and his wife Jessica and Matthew Giles of Morgantown; great grandchildren, Macy and Roman Giles; sister, Blanche Groves and her husband Kenneth of Morgantown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, George Arell Rodgers; son in law, Ted Giles; siblings, Elton Lyons, Esther Lyons Potocar, John Lyons, Glenna Lyons. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Thursday, October 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Friday, October 14th from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
