Goldie Jenkins

Goldie Jenkins, 82, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.Goldie was born in Pursglove on October 7, 1928, the daughter of the late John Edward and Bertha Wilson Handford.She retired from Valley Mental Health where she was the head of housekeeping. She enjoyed watching tennis and soap operas and especially loved to dance and sing. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Charles Eugene Jenkins of Morgantown, Debora Kay Hoff of Milford, CT and Jeffrey Alan Jenkins of Morgantown, her grandchildren, Kristen Vining of Brighton, MA, Ryan Joseph Jenkins and wife, Elizabeth of Morgantown, Jessica Vining of Shelton, CT, Jonathan Vining of New Haven, CT, and Jordan Alan Jenkins of Morgantown, a great-granddaughter, Addileigh Kate Jenkins, her sisters, Lillian Furman of St. Petersburg, FL and Mary Kelly of Summerville, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sammy Handford, Louise Nicklow, Charles Handford and an infant sister. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Tuesday, June 28 from 6-8pm and on Wednesday, June 29, from 10-11a. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday morning in the funeral home with Rev. James Cooley, II officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover. 229124
