Gregory Gerard Luci

Gregory Gerard Luci, 57, of Morgantown, passed away on October 22, 2017 at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Gregory was born on September 6, 1960, the son of the late Sam and Irene (Barkaszi) Luci. Gregory was a longstanding member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. He attended Morgantown High School. He worked for the Monongalia County Sheriff at the county jail and performed as McGruff, the Crime Dog. He later went to work at Mylan Pharmaceuticals. He was a gifted musician and a talented bowler having rolled a sanctioned 300 game. Gregory is survived by his son, Nicholas Luci; sister, Mary Anne Morrone and her husband, Sam, of Lakeland, FL; and nieces and nephews: Sammy and Jessica Morrone of Morgantown, Dr. Matthew Morrone of Latrobe, PA, Kristyn Morrone of Atlanta, GA, and Caitlyn and Aaron Blair of Atlanta, GA. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, University Ave., Star City, on Tuesday, November 21st at 10 a.m. with Fr. Justin Blanc as Celebrant and Deacon David Lester as Homilist. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Peace Garden.
