Harold R. Boyles, 82, Morgantown, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Monongalia General Hospital.Harold was born in Morgantown on September 16, 1929, the son of the late John Joseph and Sarah E. Snider Boyles.He had been employed for 25years at General Electric. He was a former chief of the Clinton District Fire Department having served for 41 years, he was also a member of the I.O.O.F # 10 for 21 years, the Brownâs Halleck Community Association where he was the current treasurer and he served the Boys Scouts of America for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed. Harold is survived by his wife, Mary F. Johnson Boyles, his children Joseph R. Boyles and wife Yvette, Daniel E. Boyles and wife Janet, Janet L. Brobst and husband Donald, Bonnie A. Heaster and husband Jeff, and Karen S. Boyles, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Janice Keener and a brother, Raymond Boyles as well as many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Boyles and his sisters, Kathryn Haun and Shirley Boyles. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17. The I.O.O.F. Lodge #10, will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, to conclude the evening visitation. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 18, from 10 -11 a.m. at the Clinton District Fire Department, Grafton Road. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the fire department with Pastor Lee Green officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown where Full Military Honors will be accorded.
