Harry Rice

Harry Raymond Rice, 78, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital of Morgantown, WV. He was born on October 23, 1938, the son of the late Howard Rice and Goldie Fluharty Rice. He retired from MUB, and formerly worked for Consol, Lakeview, and Sanitary Milk. He was passionate about hunting and fishing, and he built and flew radio controlled airplanes. Harry enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, and especially his grandson. He was never too busy to give his time to anyone who needed his assistance or asked for help. He also enjoyed the companionship of his faithful friend, Miss Kitty. Harry is survived by his daughters, Robin Renquest and her husband, Ric, and Cheryl Schubel and her husband, Eric, both of Morgantown; his grandson, Max Schubel of Morgantown, a sister, Sue McCarty; three brothers, Edmond, Robert, and Cecil Rice; several nieces and nephews; and his best friends, Charlie and Brenda Nester, and very close friends, Ronald “Stoney” Nester and Ernie Utter. Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown from 5-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, March 21 from 10-11 a.m., the time of the service with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
