Helen V. Scudiere, 97, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Wellington Elder Care of Wellington, Florida where she resided the past 2 ½ years. She was born April 29, 1919 in Fairmont, WV the daughter of the late Dominick and Carmella Romino. Helen is the last of her immediate family of nine brothers and sisters. . Helen and her husband Albert, along with her brother-in-law, Mike Romino, started American Dry Cleaners in 1939. She worked beside her husband and son there until her retirement. American Dry Cleaners is still in operation today after 77 years in business. She enjoyed her bridge club and the many activities they shared with their husbands. She and Albert were members of the Beau Monde Dance Club and were avid Mountaineer fans. Helen is survived by two children; son Albert (Janna) Scudiere Jr. of Morgantown, daughter Mary Beth (Gene) Schriner of Wellington, FL, five grandchildren; Alison (Merritt) Gile of Evergreen, CO, Jennifer (Garth) Gartin of Pittsburgh, PA, Kelly, Kurt and Keith Schriner of Wellington, FL, two great grandchildren; Giovanna and Digby Gile of Evergreen, CO and several generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Albert in July, 2009. Family and friends will be received at St. Mary Catholic Church, Star City, Friday, May 20th from 5-8 p.m. A Scriptural Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the evening visitation. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 21st from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m with Father John V. DiBacco and Father Andy Switzer and con-celebrants. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Peace Garden Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ursula’s Food Pantry, Pursglove, WV 26546, St Mary Roman Catholic Church , 3334B University Avenue Morgantown, WV 26505 or Trust Bridge Hospice Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, W Palm Beach, FL 33407.
