Jackie “Jack” Gene Tanner, 77, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his residence. Jack was born in Spencer, WV on March 7, 1940, the son of the late Ira Tanner and Arlene (Harper) Tanner. He was Mormon by faith and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving his country in the U.S. Armed Forces. Jack was the owner of ACI Restoration and ACI Elite Services. He was a boy scout, pilot, skydiver, bungie jumper and enjoyed target shooting. He was active in the community and was a lifelong learner. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Craig A. Tanner and his sister, Patricia Long. Jack is survived by his wife, June Rita (Sheehan) Tanner; a daughter, Vanessa Tanner Meredith and husband Christopher; three grandchildren, Willow Meredith, Shea Elizabeth German-Tanner and Avery Grace Tanner; one brother, John Tanner and wife Lois; two sisters, Loretta Corathers and husband Mac and Ellen Tanner and husband Robert Story. Friends and family will be received Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, at 2pm until the time of memorial service at 3pm with Pastor Brian Detrick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack Tanners memory to, Boy Scouts of America – Mountaineer Area, 1325 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving Texas 75015 or Morgantown Hospice, 3596 Collins Ferry Rd. #250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
