Jacob Wesley Tennant

Jacob Wesley Tennant (WF8S) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He was 49 years old. Jake, as he was known, is mourned by the loves-of-his life: wife Elizabeth of Granville and daughter, Denise of Pittsburgh, PA. Jake was born July 20, 1966 in Westover, WV. A graduate of University High School where he participated in the band, Jake served in the Army as an MP. Throughout his life, he volunteered as a firefighter, performing communications with Civil Air Patrol, and served in multiple functions with the Monongalia Wireless Association. He was also an Eagle Scout, and very active in the Boy Scouts of America. An alumnus of Pierpont Community and Technical College, Jake was an admired member of the staff as an IT and Network administrator. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing, often simultaneously. Jake was preceded by his parents Kenneth and Catherine Tennant, both of Westover; and his beloved mother-in-law Billie Marlowe, of Brownsville, PA. In addition to his wife and daughter, Jake will be missed by his family: sisters Patricia Mayle and Cathy Collins both of Westover; sister-in-law and husband Denise and Roger Vandenbrook of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law and wife Connie and Wanda Marlowe of Grindstone, PA; sister-in-law and debate partner Jami Marlowe of Pittsburgh, PA; and brother-in-law and golf buddy Wallace Marlowe of Granville; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 am at Paradise Lake Golf Course. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: the Fairmont State Foundation in memory of Jacob Tennant, 1201 Locust Avenue, Fairmont WV 26554.
